*Gekka Bijin literally translates to "A beauty under the moon". It is also a common name for a type of epiphyllum, also known as "Queen of the Night (right)".
This night-blooming flower is often used to portray fleeting yet memorable beauty or a mysterious rarity; and here, it might be best described as a metaphor to the sweet intoxication of Tomomasa's ephemeral night lover.
